Feelin the Burn

Wow- I went to my first upper body night at Total Body Shaping last night and boy am I feeling it today! It was such a blast! We worked shoulders and back last night with a combo of punches on the bag and some really hard push-ups. For the push-ups, we had to lower down in four counts, hold for two seconds and then push back up. Ouch! I really hope my form is improving since my Crossfit workout a couple weeks ago.

I’m going to try and get some pictures of the studio where I’m working out, so you can see the equipment we’re using. There’s just no way for me to get pics during class…without freaking some of the ladies out. Haha.

I was really nervous about class last night, since I hadn’t done the upper body night yet. I put on a “cool” outfit to pump me up.

I am such a dweeb. And I need to do laundry. Again.

It turned out all good though. Well, except for this!

All the jump rope and jumping jacks caused some serious friction. Last night’s sports bra is now in the trash. My shoulder stings 😦

Yesterday morning, I set up a meal in my slow cooker. There’s nothing better than coming home from work to a yummy meal that’s all done and ready to eat!

I made my slow cooker chicken tacos and used a jar of Habanero Lime salsa from Trader Joes. I made a bowl of it with some light shredded cheese and chopped red peppers to power me through my workout. The salsa was a great combo of spicy and lime-y. 🙂

Workout Schedule

So, I’ll have to make some changes to my workouts this week. Last Friday night I showed up to my boot camp class a little before 7 pm and the gym was closed. Umm, hello? Where is everyone? I found out last night there is no class on Friday nights, but we get to go to a 9:30 AM class on Saturday morning. Wouldn’t it have been nice if someone had told me that when I registered for the class?

Tuesday- Total Body Solutions (TBS)

Wednesday- Run- didn’t make it 😦 Bad sleep again

Thursday- TBS

Friday- Crossfit or 3 mile run. I want to do Crossfit, but it’s a decent drive for me at 6 in the morning.

Saturday- I have plans, so I might might might be able to squeeze in an early workout- maybe the run? I want to run 3 miles!!!

Sunday- Yoga or off.

No TBS tonight because I’m going to to Boston with Em to see a play. Details tomorrow! Have a lovely Wednesday 🙂

Has a gym ever “flaked” on you and cancelled a class or changed the schedule without notifying you?

What are your thoughts on punching bags? So far, I love them!
