Not Like Me

Happy Thirsty Thursday! I (sadly) don’t think there are any drinks in my future today, but I hope there are for you! πŸ™‚

Good news on the workout front: starting tomorrow, I can get back to my normal workout, and heck, normal life routine. My eyes should be good to go! Yay! I can’t believe that I’m excited to workout though. Even a year ago, I was not as in to being fit and healthy as I am now. I always have more energy when I workout and I try to remember that all the time. Plus, I love to eat and I can eat more when I workout too. How could I hate that?

Energy + Food = A Happy Steph πŸ™‚

Something else that is not like me is that I’m thinking of signing up to run a race. I used to be really, really good at running when I was a kid. I always beat the other kids at the 1 mile run in P.E. and I have tons of ribbons from running in “kiddie” races as well. My mom used to run in a racing league in Orlando while I was growing up and many of my childhood memories are of my dad carrying me out to the car at 4 am on a Saturday morning on the way to one of her races. A lot of the races held a “kiddie” race too, just for fun I guess. I always wanted to win though. My mom was really good and has even run 10 marathons!

Somewhere around middle school I lost all desire to any kind of physical activity and I definitely did not like running. I’ve attempted running for some of my workouts over the past few years, but I don’t think I can go more than one lap around the track before I have to stop.

Something in me is just looking for a new challenge. I know it’s small, but I would love to be able to run a 5k with no stops.

I Googled “races in Boston,MA” today and found this website, RunningintheUSA. You can search for races in any state and it breaks them down by month. So cool!

One that really caught my eye is the “Miles Over the Moon 4 Miler” in Salem, MA. It’s on the night of Friday the 13th! You probably know that Salem, MA is where all the witch trials took place and is supposedly very haunted. Sounds like fun! But, it is a 4 miler, even more than a 5 k and it’s only a little over a month away. I don’t know if I could pull it off.

I love that the cat has running shoes on πŸ˜‰

Maybe I will just start to get some running in and see how I feel. It just sounds like such a cool event.

Me. As a runner. I don’t know…

On to a topic much more like me…sugar! Yes, I love sugar. Bad, bad, I know. I can’t help it.

I may or may not have gotten my roomie (Em) addicted to a delicious spread called Biscoff. I’m pretty sure it’s been on the blog before. Oh yeah, I just bought the Trader Joe’s version of it a couple weeks ago and it’s already gone. Oops.

Well, this is what happened when Em’s Biscoff melted off her toast tonight.

Yup, she’s licking it off the plate. This is why I love her. She can literally lick theΒ  plate clean in front of me and I don’t even think anything of it πŸ™‚ (Except that it would make a funny shot for the blog)

Also random, this had been my snack for the past two nights in a row.

Bush’s baked beans, original style. LOL. I don’t know why, but sometimes they hit the spot. Lots of protein and fiber at least!

Well, that’s all I’ve got. Talk to you tomorrow!

Are you interested in trying a new sport?

What weird snacks have you been eating lately?

  1. Hahaha- yay! My picture made the blog!!!

I’m so pumped for your race! I’ll watch from the sidelines πŸ™‚

  2. I love websites about running races – brings back great memories!! I miss those races sometimes. I think that race should be called “Miles UNDER the Moon”, not OVER, but whatever. Keep up the training!

  3. Steph, You CAN do it! A four miler is not that difficult if you pace yourself – that is the most important thing to do, whether you’re a first timer or have run marathons. You could even walk part of the way! Sign up for the race and just do it! πŸ™‚
